Two
weeks ago was our monthly business
meeting. We voted to give $100 to
Catawba College Baseball Tournament, to do a canned food drive for RHM, to try
and do a volunteer night once a quarter at RHM, starting January.
Burt Harris said he’d continue to pick up the widows for the Christmas
Party, because, he said, he’s been picking them up for years....

Civi-Trivi
Last
Week’s:- Connery,
Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan. Yes I know I missed out David Niven, but Casino
Royale wasn’t really a Bond Film, it was a spoof.
THIS
WEEK’s:- Bells,
Bells & More Bells. In
1996 on April 1st, Taco Bell, ran full page ads in various newspapers
across the country, stating that they had purchased what?
HHHHHHHHHHHH
A blonde went to the
post office to buy stamps for Christmas cards.
She said to the clerk, "May I have 50 Christmas stamps?"
The clerk said, "What denomination?"
The woman said, "Ding Dong!
Has it come to this? O.K., Give me 6
Catholic, 12 Presbyterian, 10 Lutheran and 22 Baptist."
More Bells Ringing!
The
latest 2003 population count in the United Kingdom is 60, 100,000.
11 million of those are under age 14.
There are 51 million cell phone owners in the country, so roughly everyone over
the age of 8 has a cell phone. 1500 cell phones are stolen every week.
It’s the largest type of crime by far in the UK.
Most are smuggled overseas, many to Africa.
Incidentally, just to CHIME IN with even more useless trivia, the phone
smugglers don’t have far to run to reach a boat in the UK.
It’s impossible to get farther than 78 miles from the sea anywhere in
Great Britain.
